Q: My unit has no output. Zip/Zilch/Nada.. What is wrong?
A: We employ a mute relay to protect the gear this beast get's plugged into. It is most likely engaged.
When you turn the unit on, we sense the power supply voltages and mute the output until operating voltage has been reached.
A number of units have recently experienced an issue with R114 (B+ sensing Resistor) going up in value. This resistor is used in the voltage sensing circuitry to tell the unit that it has achieved stable operating voltage, and it is OK to turn on the output.
 

Q: My Limiter makes 'farting' noises when it goes into limiting, Why?
A: The 'tip in' is not adjusted properly. See the user manual for proper procedure

Q: The unit has low output, sounds 'thin' for the first 5 minutes of use?
A: The above mentioned mute relay does not have enough pull in 'juice' and kinda hangs.. OR the insert bypass relay is hanging. Usually self correcting after 5 mins. The way to isolate what it is requires an oscilloscope (and the ability to use it!) If you are comfortable probing HIGH Voltage, look at the two points indicated below.
When the unit is operating properly, signals of equal but opposite polarity will be present Contact me on replacement process if not.

Q: Sometimes the units oscillates and operates very flakey like... Why?
A: The output has three modes;
Single ended to pin 2
Single ended to pin 3
Truly balanced. It is active and does NOT like to drive single ended inputs when in balanced mode. Most often this problem occurs when wired into a patch bay and is used with studios that have a mix of balanced and unbalanced equipment.

Q: The limiting meter does not sit on '0' when I turn the unit on, why?
A: The circuitry used to drive the limiting tube is heat sensitive. Until the unit reaches operating temperature the limiting '0' will drift around. The amount of this drift should never be more than 4-5 db. (Usual mode is upon turn on the meter will read around -4 and then as the unit heats up the meter will drift up to '0' and stabilize). LATE BREAKING NEWS!! Modification available that eliminates this issue!

Q: The unit has low output, sounds 'thin' for the first 5 minutes of use? (Part Two)

A: The circuitry is heat sensitive. All of the audio (Except final output) is tube based. Until the unit reaches operating temperature the Unit will have higher than average distortion and noise.
